Multilateral organisms and institutions
The promotion of emission reduction projects is a priority for international institutions and multilateral agencies aiming at facilitating the transition to non emission-intensive economies through government reforms and improvements.
Among the projects and services developed are the following:
- Analysis of legal, financial and institutional barriers for the development of projects to reduce emissions.
- Institutional development of technical and commercial capabilities to promote projects that reduce emissions and carbon markets.
- Development of emissions projections on the medium and long term to support in generating mitigation strategies and in emission allowances sales.
- Analysis of the sectorial potential to mitigate emissions within different economic sectors.
- Development of national inventory systems, and in the case of Annex I countries, also of all other requirements to determine the eligibility to be included within the international emissions right trading scheme.
- Analysis of the organizational capacity and institutional development.
