Costs of climate change, strategy and action for San Salvador (Bahamas)

The project is focused on analyzing the economic costs of climate change in San Salvador (Bahamas) using the methodology known as “Economics of Climate Adaptation” (ECA). In addition, an appropriate framework was established for making decisions in this area.
During the study, a cost-benefit analysis was conducted on the different measures for climate change adaptation in the country and a specific software tool was created for making decisions related to the different cost effective measures considered. Additionally, the results of the project were reinforced with workshops intended for local training.
In short, this project assesses the economic impact of climate change in San Salvador (Bahamas) and will design and prioritize measures to minimize their effects, together with the dissemination of the information generated and the incorporation of the information to the plan for Tourism development.
Since 2013, Factor has carried out similar projects in countries such as Trinidad and Tobago.
