Factor CO2 conducts validation workshop of the MRV design proposal of the NAMA for Sustainable Construction in Peru

Last week, Factor CO2 was in Lima, Peru, to carry out the validation workshop for the design proposal of the Measurement, Reporting and Verification System (MRV) of the Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) for Sustainable Construction with City Vision - housing subcomponent, part of a project carried out for the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) within the Financial Mechanisms for Low Carbon Development - FinanCC Peru, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The objective of the workshop was the dissemination of the Sustainable Construction NAMA, the Technical Code of Sustainable Construction (CTCS), the Sustainable Mivivienda Bond and the preliminary report of the MRV System. On the other hand, it sought to collect contributions, suggestions and recommendations for the improvement of the proposed MRV System.

The workshop was opened by Gustavo Pablo Olivas Aranda, Deputy Minister of Construction and Sanitation of the Ministry of Housing Construction and Sanitation, and Rosa Mabel Morales Saravia, Director General of Climate Change and Desertification of the Ministry of the Environment of Peru.

The workshop was attended by public agents such as the Mivivienda Fund, the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM), the Ministry of Environment (MINAM), the Ministry of Housing, Construction And Sanitation (MVCS), the Supervisory Agency for Energy and Mining Investment (OSINERGMIN) and the National Superintendence of Sanitation Services (SUNASS); As well as private entities belonging to the energy, water and construction sectors.

The Factor team, represented by Hugo Lucas, responsible for Factor Energy (Factor Energy) and Juan Carlos Gómez, Factor Consultant, participated in the workshop to present the MRV design proposal for the NAMA for Construction Sustainable with City Vision - housing subcomponent.
