25 October 2018 | Mitigation

Today, Friday October 26, the Xunta de Galicia joins, once again, the fourth edition of one of the largest events with international impact related to climate change: Climathon.

The Climathon is a 24-hour climate change meeting that takes place simultaneously in major cities around the world, such as Paris, London, Washington, Shanghai, Sydney, among others.

The objective of the event is to sensitize attendees on the effects that climate change will have on their environment and gather their ideas regarding the adaptation measures needed to achieve greater resilience to climate change.

Climathon Galicia 2018 is organized by the Department of Environment and Spatial Planning of the Xunta de Galicia, and brings together entrepreneurs, students and professionals to create innovative solutions to the climate challenges of Galicia.

The event will deal with one of the sectors analysed as vulnerable and of the highest priority for Galicia, the waste sector, with the slogan "less waste, less emissions".

The team of Factor CO2 represented by Iria Flavia Peñalva, partner and project manager, and Mariana Viesca, consultant, will be in charge of organizing the dynamics that will seek to translate innovative ideas for each of the priority challenges addressed.

Throughout the day, from Climathon Galicia will be held different connections with other cities of the Climathon community to share experiences and progress.

The Climathon will end on saturday with the selection of the most innovative ideas, which will be shared with the global Climathon community.

Since 2004, Factor CO2 has been offering technical consulting and market services to governments and international organizations and to more than 400 companies.
