Factor taught courses on environmental sustainability, circular economy and responsible consumption in Calamonte - Badajoz

From September 23 to 26, 2019, the Factor team, represented by Carmelo Angulo, responsible for the department of circular economy, gave four days of training for the course: “Environmental sustainability, circular economy and responsible consumption in operations and establishments in the tourism sector ”, aimed at unemployed people in the region.

The course is part of the “Employability and Sustainable Tourism” project developed by the COPADE Foundation, within the Biodiversity Foundation's employee program, co-financed by the European Social Fund, and which is aimed at contributing to the transition towards a new environmentally sustainable model for the Tourism sector companies.

The training includes such important topics as the measurement and compensation of carbon footprint, energy and water consumption or waste management. Its delivery is in charge of 3 expert reference entities in the field such as KOAN Consulting (responsible tourism), Factor (mitigation and adaptation to climate change) and COPADE (Fair Trade and Responsible Consumption).

Specifically, the project is focused in the development of training processes for unemployed people interested in developing professionally in the tourism sector, with the purpose of entering the labor market with the ability to facilitate the transition of tourism businesses towards a circular economy and environmentally sustainable model.
