Nepal to hosts Regional Conference on Climate Change
24 May 2016 | Mitigation
The Nepalese government confirmed yesterday that Nepal will host a regional conference on climate change and natural disaster risk reduction on May 26 and 27.
The event will be organized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the Center for South Asian Studies and the European Center for Development Alternatives.
According to a press release from IUCN, the participating countries will share their experience on climate change adaptation and the role of the media in disaster risk reduction.
The need for greater cooperation will be also discussed in order to face these problems in the countries of the area.
Nepal is one of the most vulnerable countries to natural disasters, which are difficult to manage due to the high population density and poverty levels.
