The 2018 call for Proyectos Clima

18 April 2018 | Mitigation | 1

The Spanish Office of Climate Change launched, on April10th, 2018, the 2018 Call for Proyectos Clima.

The Climate Projects of the Spanish Carbon Fund for a Sustainable Economy (FES-CO2) are aimed at encouraging the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in Spain, by purchasing the reduced tons of CO2 equivalents (tCO2e) once verified at a fixed price during the first four years of life of the project. Focused on emissions from facilities and sectors not regulated by EU ETS (transport, residential, waste, agricultural, industrial, fluorinated compounds), excluding removals by carbon sinks.

As in the 2017 call, in this new edition will have special relevance the projects that group several activities under the same umbrella, the so-called programmatic projects.

The first stage of the 2018 call is the presentation of the samples of interest using the PIN project summary model, which must be sent before May 14th to the FES-CO2. This document consists of a basic description of the project.

Factor CO2 has assisted several Pilot Climate Projects, having obtained the prequalification for several projects in the main benefited sectors. Therefore, those promoters of low carbon projects are encouraged to contact our team of flexible mechanisms, in order to analyze the concrete possibilities of presenting these projects to the sixth call for Climate Projects.
